Jeff has more than a decade of experience working as a journalist and creative consultant for clients across industries. He has developed engaging copy for creative agencies and commercial tech and design clients, including Autodesk, Steelcase, Viking Range, Eberly & Collard Public Relations, Spoon, and Endeavor Media. He is available for news and feature writing, brand stories, custom content development, ghostwriting, copywriting, SEO articles, and script writing.
After graduating with a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, Jeff spent several years as the senior editor at a small publishing house. Books under his editorial direction were featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and NPR's Weekend Edition. More recently, he served as senior editor at Toptal, a global talent agency representing 10,000 technical professionals in more than 100 countries. He assists clients with manuscript development, copyediting (to improve clarity, accessibility, and style), and proofreading (to correct grammar and punctuation).
Jeff is adept at distilling technical subjects for everyday readers. A former development officer for the Chicago Botanic Garden, Jeff prepared grant proposals annually securing hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding from corporate donors, foundations, and government agencies. His technical writing has been recognized with a Jesse H. Neal Award, the most prestigious editorial honor in business-to-business media.
